The development of ‘Health and Wellbeing Week’ for South Dublin County followed a collaborative process among partner agencies such as the Health Services Executive (HSE), Tallaght Hospital, Pieta House, South Dublin County Partnership and Trinity College Centre for Health Sciences among others. Together these agencies are developing a shared vision and a heightened awareness of the many services and facilities available to our citizens.

South Dublin County Council chairs the Healthy Ireland- South Dublin Healthy County Project. A healthy county is defined by the way it works to support health and wellbeing. It is conscious of health, and works to improve it through continually enhancing its physical and social environments. A healthy county also develops the community resources that enable people to support each other in living their lives and achieving their potential.

The HSE is delighted to support South Dublin County Council in their annual Health and Wellbeing week. This important event showcases many good examples of Health Promotion and Improvement initiatives in South Dublin County. The week also focuses on inter agency collaboration and partnership working to promote health and wellbeing for everyone and also in building solid foundations for future collaboration. These are core principles of ‘Healthy Ireland’ the Governments Framework for promoting Health and Wellbeing.
