The confirmations are now over for this year and they went extremely well. Congratulations to all those that got confirmed. I didn’t get a chance to go over to the Church myself but there was high praise for the choir & trad group from the school. People thought the service was lovely and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I, with all the volunteers was over in the hall setting it up for the tea & coffees. This year we had a total of 41 volunteers plus committee members helping over the last two days. That is really amazing, and I can’t thank all the volunteers and the p.a. members enough for all their hard work. Without them it wouldn’t have been the success it was.
There is an awful lot of work that goes into it the confirmation reception. Both the School and the P.A. are involved with the organising of it. Ms O’Gara created stunning flower arrangements for each table, Betty made the table cloths. The P.A. organise the balloons and as an extra treat this year we had a candy cart, which was extremely popular! ( I couldn’t get the P.A. members away from it!)
Along with teas and coffees we served scones and biscuits which were very popular with the sixth class families. As you can imagine as we are such a big school there are a lot of scones that have to be dressed and honestly it will take me a while before I can look at another scone!! (some of the volunteers preparing the scones and then having a well deserved coffee break)
We also had a kids table and this year we had water, chocolate, crisps and of course the very popular candy cart.
My favourite part is when the families come over from the Church and actually gasp when they walk into the hall. When you get that reaction you know you’ve got it right!
To all the volunteers thanks for all the work you did and all the laughs over the last two days it was so fantastic that so many of you gave up your time to help out. THANK YOU.
Thank you so much for all the hard work The reception after the Confirmation was top class and really appreciated
